PATTERN INFORMATION

This pattern was designed to help connect kids’ imaginations with a budding appreciation for flavours, foods and cultures, but it’s also extremely satisfying to make, arrange and play with as ‘older chefs’.

Best of all, the poached egg has an interactive element to it! The white and yolk are crocheted separately so it can be hidden inside, pulled out to reveal its runny centre or even fully removed.

It’s an intermediate pattern because while many of the stitches are very beginner friendly, the construction methods are more unusual.

Certain ingredients are crocheted in continuous rounds, while others are worked flat in rows. Instructions at the start of each will let you know which, and a photo tutorial will help demonstrate techniques used.
